What are calluses?
A callus is formed when feet are exposed to hard surfaces and friction causes skin to become rough leading to a callus. Pedicures are very effective ways of removing them to bring your feet back to their natural softness, but not everyone feels comfortable having their feet touched by someone else.
How to use a Callus Shaver and Rasp Foot File
Step one
Whether you’re taking a hot bath or using a foot spa, it’s important to take time to pamper yourself and soak your feet to prepare and soften the skin ready to use a Callus Shaver or foot rasp. We’d recommend adding a little Epsom salt and some sliced lemon to help soften calluses and sanitise your feet.
When you’ve finished soaking pat your feet dry and if you’re going for a full pedicure at home, we’d leave your feet to dry for around 5-minutes for your nails to harden before trimming them with clippers or attending to cuticles with a cuticle nipper.

Step two
Dampen your feet once more and then gently glide the Callus Shaver against any hard skin in an upward direction (front of heel pad to back). This will remove dead skin layers without overworking or scrubbing the area with the shaver. Don’t use the Callus Shaver like you might a pumice stone - short, soft strokes will work best.

Step three
Press the silver button to slide and switch heads on the Callus Shaver and lock into place. Use the foot rasp to smooth skin once shaved for a silky soft finish.
Step four
Use your favourite moisturiser or foot mask to give your feet a boost of hydration to nourish skin and keep it supple. If you’re planning to paint your toenails after, don’t use an oil based moistoriser as this will leave an oily residue on your nails making them difficult to paint and dry.
